Custom Application Development

Your business isn't standard. Your software shouldn't have to be.

We build custom applications that simplify complex workflows, connect disconnected systems, and give your team a better way to get work done.

Your current tools work - until they don't.

As a business grows, the gaps between systems and processes can become harder to manage. The result is extra work, fragmented information, and less visibility into what's happening.

  • Manual work that keeps returning

Your team repeatedly collects, updates, or transfers information between spreadsheets, emails, and systems.

  • Processes spread across different tools

Work moves between people and departments without a reliable, shared view of progress.

  • Reporting that takes too much effort

Getting accurate operational information requires manual consolidation and repeated follow-ups.

  • Requirements your existing software cannot handle

Your current platforms cover most needs, but an important workflow still requires a purpose-built solution.

These problems don't always require replacing your existing systems. Sometimes, the missing piece is an application designed around the way your business actually works.

Applications built around your actual operations.

The work starts with your process and the problem to be solved, not a predetermined technology. What we build depends on how your team works today and what needs to change.

Internal operations applications

Purpose-built tools for managing repeatable processes, tasks, approvals, and operational information.

Work that used to live in spreadsheets and inboxes gets one dependable home.

Workflow and process management

Applications that make handoffs, responsibilities, status, and progress easier to track.

People can see what's theirs, what's next, and where work is stuck.

Data and reporting applications

Interfaces that bring information together and make it easier to monitor performance and produce reports.

Reports come from the data itself instead of being assembled by hand.

Applications alongside existing systems

Focused functionality that complements an existing ERP, CRM, database, or other platform where appropriate.

You keep the systems that work and add what they can't do.

Here's what a better workflow could look like.

An illustrative example of how one request could move through an application, from intake to management reporting. Select a step to see the screen at that point. This is a concept with sample data, not a deployed customer project.

Step 1: A request enters the application

A job, request, or task arrives through a form or a connected system instead of an email thread or a spreadsheet row.

BookDah

Booking and business management for Caribbean service businesses

The need
Businesses were managing bookings through WhatsApp, phone calls, and direct messages. Requests got lost, appointments overlapped, and customer details were scattered across tools.
What was built
A booking and business management platform: public business profiles with shareable booking links, an owner workspace for requests, calendars, customers, and messaging, and a local discovery marketplace.
How it works
Owners accept or decline requests, see calendar and daily timeline views, block time, add buffers, and record walk-ins, with customer history and private notes in one place. One system handles services, rentals, and product enquiries.
Outcome
Live at bookdah.com. The case study documents the delivered platform and its capabilities; it does not claim measured business results.

Sizzle Legacies

Guided video storytelling with automated production and local payments

Built with: React, Node.js, Supabase, FFmpeg, Fiserv IPG Connect

The need
Turning family stories into a finished video normally takes recording equipment, editing software, and time. The platform also needed local payment processing and had to protect long recordings from being lost.
What was built
A platform where people answer curated questions by video, audio, or text and receive a finished video, with free, pay-per-video, and premium plans.
How it works
A server-side pipeline assembles recordings into the finished video. Recordings are kept in the browser and in cloud storage so work survives refreshes and disconnections, and a hosted payment gateway handles one-time and recurring payments.
Outcome
Guided storytelling, automated video production, and online payments now work together in one platform, with finished videos delivered to each user's dashboard.

Judicor

A full-lifecycle digital examination platform

Built with: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Supabase, Stripe

The need
Running digital exams meant stitching together authoring, scheduling, monitoring, grading, and records across disconnected tools, often with intrusive proctoring software.
What was built
One application covering exam creation, scheduled sessions, browser-based integrity monitoring, grading, and results reporting, with separate interfaces for educators, administrators, and candidates.
How it works
Browser activity such as focus loss, fullscreen exits, and copy and paste events is recorded and scored for educator review. Role-based access, organization workspaces, and billing sit behind the same application.
Outcome
A connected workflow from exam authoring through to reporting. The case study notes that adoption and time-saving figures will be added only when they are measured.

Oxide

A gym-branded fitness platform built around members

Built with: Flutter, Riverpod, Hive, Supabase

The need
Gym members juggle separate apps for food, workouts, and daily habits, with little connection to their gym or trainers and little control over what gets shared.
What was built
A gym-branded member app and a separate owner portal: food, workout, fasting, step, hydration, and weight tracking, with gyms distributing coaching plans to their members.
How it works
Everyday tracking is offline-first and stored on the member's device. Members choose what to share with coaches through manual check-ins, while a shared backend handles accounts, gym relationships, and plans.
Outcome
A delivered Android-first member app with iOS support in the codebase and a web portal for gym owners and coaches.

Outcomes are described only where the case study documents them. We don't publish performance figures or client results we can't substantiate.

A clear path from problem to working application.

  1. Step 1

    Understand the problem

We learn how the process works today, where it breaks down, who uses it, and what a better outcome would look like.

  2. Step 2

    Define the right solution

We agree on the scope, essential functionality, integration requirements, and what success should look like before development begins.

  3. Step 3

    Build and validate

We develop in stages, review progress with you, and validate the application against the agreed requirements.

  4. Step 4

    Launch and support

We prepare the application for deployment, provide an agreed handover, and discuss ongoing support where needed.

Scope, milestones, ownership, costs, and responsibilities are agreed before development starts. We don't promise a fixed timeline before we understand the project.

Need an application development partner?

We work with consulting firms, technology providers, and implementation teams that encounter application requirements beyond their existing platforms or delivery capacity.

  • Focused development for specific client requirements
  • Applications that complement existing platforms and consulting work
  • A defined scope and clear communication throughout delivery

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of applications do you build?

It depends on the business problem. Typical work includes internal tools, workflow and approval applications, data and reporting systems, and applications that work alongside existing platforms such as an ERP, CRM, or database.

Can you work with our existing systems?

Often, yes. We assess integration and compatibility during discovery, based on your existing systems, the interfaces they make available, and what the application needs to do. Where an existing system works well, we plan around it rather than replace it.

What does a project cost?

Costs depend on scope, complexity, integrations, and delivery requirements. SilicaSites focuses on substantial custom application projects rather than low-cost template websites. We can't give a fixed price without understanding the problem, so the first step is a conversation about what you need.

How long does a project take?

It depends on the requirements, and the timeline is agreed during planning rather than quoted up front. We don't publish a universal timeline because it wouldn't be accurate for your project.

What if we only have an initial idea?

That's fine. A complete technical specification isn't necessary to start a conversation. The first step is understanding the problem and the outcome you want, and the requirements are shaped from there.

Do you work with consulting and implementation partners?

Yes, where there's a suitable fit. We can discuss focused development requirements, collaboration, scope, and delivery responsibilities.

What's getting in the way of your team's work?

Tell us what you're trying to accomplish, where your current process falls short, and what you need to work better. We'll review the requirements and discuss whether SilicaSites is the right fit.

No obligation to proceed. A clear description of the problem is enough to start.

What happens next

  • We read what you've sent.
  • If there's a potential fit, we reply to talk through the requirements.
  • Nothing is committed until scope, costs, and responsibilities are agreed.

A clear description of the problem is enough. No technical specification needed.

We'll review your message and respond if there's a potential fit.
